Can Solar Power Save California from Wildfire Threats and Blackouts?
PG&E, the electric company that controls most of Northern California's energy grid, shut off power to close to 1 million customers this past November. The blackouts were on purpose as PG&E was afraid that aging power lines and energy infrastructure could exacerbate the wildfire problem we have here in California. The outages made local headlines and are likely to continue as experts pretty much agree all around, wildfires in California are going to become more severe and more frequent as we move forward.
